小兒心臟急症是在小兒急診室有加護病房易發生的症狀，常需緊急處理及治療，否則常引致死亡。 常見的心臟急症為心衰竭，缺氧發作及心律不整。這些急症多合併先後先天性臟病，也有部份兒童心臟本身無病變，但因其他器官疾病而引致心臟症狀，故要細心診斷及辨明。 雖然小兒心臟急症，常需在教學醫院或大型醫院才能根治，但在地區及區域醫院的急診室及病房中，甚至開業醫診所中也會發生，值得各位醫師做深入的瞭解。

Cardiac emergency is the common and serious problem in the pediatric emergency units or intensive care units. If there is no urgent and adequate management, fatal outcome will be anticipated. Congestive heart failure, cyanotic spells and arrhythmias are the common cardiac emergencies. Except some child with extra- cardiac or systemic diseases, congenital and acquired heart diseases are the usually underlying problems to cause cardiac emergencies. Although the cardiac problems can usually be resolved in the teaching hospitals or tertiary medical centers, but pediatricians in the regional or local hospitals, and the general practitioners also need to learn how to deal with it.
