自1970年代來,永續消費持續成為全球社會回應環境危機的重要議題。許多永續消費研究多聚焦在「如何促進帶大眾消費行為的改變?」此一研究問題上。然而,這樣的研究問題及相應的論述是窄化、也恐忽略了永續消費所蘊含的社會意涵。透過永續消費論述的脈絡性回顧與分析,本文首先透過文獻回顧釐清永續消費概念所具備的日常生活實踐意義,進而指出消費者如何落實在日常生活的脈絡中。最後在經驗層次上,根據個案研究,本文將分析詮釋台灣具代表性的永續消費社群-主婦聯盟生活消費者合作社,嘗試說明這個社群的消費者如何透過集體、每日互動來增加彼此的施為能力,建構、協調以及成就彼此的永續消費生活計畫和意義。

英文摘要

Since 1970s, Sustainable Consumption has become a critical issue. Much attention has been paid to the way to initiate mass consumers to change their consumption patterns. Such research question, nevertheless, overlooks the potential social implications of sustainable consumption. This paper will contextualize the concept and realization of sustainable consumption in everyday life practice. In doing so, it will conduct a theoretical literature review on the concept and idea of sustainable consumption. Then, tresearchers will propose the discursive linkage between sustainable consumption and the agency of consumer. A bottom-up scrutiny of society transformation will be discussed. Secondly, the paper will work on how consumer performance can improve his/her agency in social context. Finally, a case study of Homemaker's Union Consumer Movement based on the author's fieldwork will be provided. In all, this paper try to interpret the constitution of consumer agency in sustainable consumption among HUCC members and, moreover, their multi-facet interactions that facilitate the individual and collective practice of everyday life consumption of sustainability.
