海桐皮為少用藥材之一,始載於【開寶本草】,其基原為豆科植物刺桐Erythrina indica Lam.或喬木刺桐Erythrina arborescens Roxb.的乾燥莖皮,據文獻記載其具有抗菌、止痛等藥理作用,為瞭解目前市售海桐皮之基原,本計劃於台北、台中及高雄地區採逢機取樣方式價購海桐皮計50件檢體,另採集正品之刺桐及芸香科之食茱萸、木棉科之木棉、海桐科之台灣海桐、五加科之裏白葱木等混淆品以供對照比對。經性狀特徵、組織鏡檢、粉末鏡檢及理化鑑別,並與文獻比對結果,此50件市售海桐皮藥材,結果未發現正品海桐皮,而其中34件為食茱萸,9件為木棉,6件為食茱萸混木棉,1件未知物,其誤用之情形頗為嚴重,宜應予以導正使用正確藥材。 |

Erythrinae Cortex (Hai-Tung-Pi, 海桐皮) has been widely used as a type of Chinese traditional medicine. The dried bark of Erythrina indica Lam. (刺桐) or Erythrina arborescens Roxb. (leguminosae) is adopted in Chinese Pharmacopeia (1977 edition) as the origin of Erythrinae Cortex. Recent studies indicate that it possesses wide ranges of pharmacological effects including antifungal, antibacterial, tranquilizing and analgesic effect. In order to clarify the botanical origins of available raw material in Taiwan market, we collected four samples of similar appearances: the bark of Zanthoxylum ailanthoides S&Z (食茱萸), Gossampinum molarica (DC.) Merr. (木棉), Pittosporum formosanum (台灣刺桐) and Aralia bipinnata Blanco (裏白蔥木) as reference specimens. Fifty samples were purchased from Chinese herbal stores in Taipei, Taichung and Kaoshiung area, and were compared with the authentic Hai-tung-pi and the above reference specimens for their origins by pharmacognostic study and chemical identification. In this investigation, none of the correct origins were used in the market. The origins of the 50 samples were identified as follows: 34 samples of Zanthoxylum ailanthoides S&Z, 9 samples of Gossampinum molarica (DC.) Merr, 6 samples of Zanthoxylum ailanthoides S&Z along with Gossampinum molarica (DC.) Merr, and 1 unknown sample, respectively. The result showed that the adulteration in the markets is a very serious problem in Taiwan. |
