水資源的匱乏，不但是台灣也是全球，將面臨最嚴重的問題其所衍生的現象，諸如土石流的災害、水質的污染、生態環境的破壞、道德的淪喪，使社會付出極大的成本，因此對檳榔園所造成之影響，實有加以深入研究之必要。本論文就針對水文環境所造成的影響，尤其對地下水位的持續下降，所作調査結果提出報告，期望各界能重視其嚴重性，對水資源匱乏的危機能未雨綢繆，提供國人優良的生活環境。

The shortage of water resources is one of the serious problems that has been faced in Taiwan as well as global. The effects derived from the shortage of water resource include disaster of debris flow, pollution of water quality, the destruction of ecological environment, and the downcast of ethics. These effects caused social cost very much in Taiwan. Therefore, the effects of planting Betel Palm are necessary to be studied. The purpose of this study is to report the results in of our investigations on the effects caused by the change of hydrological environment, specially in the descending of water table. The results indicated that of public should pay more attention onthe issue of the seriousness of the problem in decreasing water table in order to have better living environment in the future.
