The Neobladder surgeon is the newest treatment of the patient with bladder cancer. There is no ostomy after Radical Cystoprostatectomy. The patient doesn't need to do self-catheterization periodically and can discharge urine through the urethra naturally. This creative surgery brings hope to the patients. It also improves patients' living quality. This report is to study the nursing experience of a 35-year-old Neobladder patient who took Neobladder surgery. In the process of nursing care, the nurses understood the patient's needs and pressures by means of observation, interviewing, listening, and physical assessment. The major patient's problems were anxiety, high-risk infection, psychosomatic confusion, and the changed health maintenance ability. By way of providing individual nursing treatment and total care and encouraging family members' participation, the patient was able to rebuild confidence and increase knowledge of the disease. The patient was encouraged to face the impact of the disease and resume original social life. |
