本文處理莒哈絲（Marguerite Duras）自傳小說《情人》（Lover, 1986）及其續作《中國情人》（North China Lover, 1992），採用克里絲蒂娃（Julia Kristeva）、布蘭蕭（Maurice Blanchot）、傅柯（Michel Foucault）等人理論，說明其作品為越界的文學（a literature of transgression）。其作在內容、形式與語言上不斷沖擊、挑戰、跨越一切的界限，尤以情慾為甚。莒哈絲書寫小女孩的極限經驗，由操縱及享受性慾而超越各種界線，將女性主體推向極限。易言之，本文認為莒哈絲將情慾的書寫成功地轉化成越界的文學。
