審美現代性之爭：哈伯瑪斯與傅柯論波特萊爾

現代和後現代的爭論中，論者對審美現代性的理解，往往涉及其理論要害。現代性的辯護者如哈伯瑪斯，往往視審美現代性為後現代性、非理性、自戀心態的源頭，無助於理性社會整體溝通計畫的完成;法國哲學家傅柯雖然亦為現代性辯護，卻認同以波特萊爾為代表的審美現代性，視之為持續作歷史批判、以發明另類自我存在方式的心態與氣度。於是，兩者對波特萊爾的詮釋產生了落差，哈伯瑪斯視他為現代性中非理性、破壞性因素的濫觴，傅柯則強調他代表了重視生命的藝術、是一種存在美學。本文試圖藉由此一論爭，尋繹出兩種看待現代美學的理論進路。
