本文從班雅民關於時間、記憶與風致的理論出發,結合拉康派精神分析理論來釐清破壞與再成框的雙向必要性,並帶入王童1995年的電影《紅柿子》中一些相關議題:歷史框架的轉換、現代性與傳統的衝突、人文意義的破壞與傳遞、主體與歷史之間的辯證等。《紅柿子》本身在情節的安排與串連上呈現插曲式或分斷式的結構;本文則希望能在此種準(後)現代的散裂經驗與記憶結構之中找到抗拒、重建與溝通的動力。除此之外,本文也兼論及《紅磨坊》、《臥虎藏龍》、《白色情迷》幾部電影作為對照之用,以資說明《紅柿子》所呈現的「框」(入櫃)與「無框」(出櫃)的深層辯證性。本文基本上認為,《紅柿子》可說是提供了另一種思考「出(後現代)櫃」或「走出出櫃」的方向與可能性。
