本文閱讀古雷希（Hanif Kureishi）的三部作品：《我的美麗洗衣店》（My Beautiful Laundrette）、《郊野佛陀》（The Buddha of Suburbia），和《黑色專輯》（The Black Album），嘗試分析古雷希以踰越種族、性別、世代、階級的疆界，呈現後帝國時期蛻變中的倫敦市景，以及離散族群特有的流動性認同。進而檢視倫敦在轉型為多元文化的全球城市時，必須同時面臨的移民文化衝擊，以及回應弱勢族裔要求的容忍與尊重。
