本報告是研究臺灣北部沿海長脚龍蝦Panulirus longipes(A.Milne-Edward,1868)之生物學特性。自1986年5月至1987年4月一年間，計採標本568尾，其中雄蝦241尾，非抱卵雌蝦268尾，抱卵雌蝦59尾（其中20尾作爲卵徑、卵數之計測）。結果如下：(1)長脚龍蝦之頭胸甲長(Carapace Length)與其體長(Body Length)、體重(Body Weight)均呈正相關，而頭胸甲長、體長、體重之最大頻率分佈範圍分別是50～59 mm，140～149 mm與100～149 g 。(2)雌雄性比爲58:42，除七、八月份雄性比例較高外，其餘月份都以雌性較雄性爲多。(3)抱卵期爲四月至十月，最盛期爲七月、八月。(4)取樣之20尾抱卵雌蝦中之頭胸甲長、體重與抱卵數，及體重與卵重均呈正相關直線廻歸，但是抱卵數與卵徑之關係並不顯著。(5)雌蝦之最小性成熟體長爲160 mm，頭胸甲長爲55 mm。抱卵率則以頭胸甲長50～69 mm最高。平均抱卵數爲每隻132000粒，平均卵徑爲0.66 mm。

The biological characteristics of the spiny lobster Panulirus longipes(A.Milne-Edwards)in the coastal waters of northern Taiwan were investigated from May 1986to April 1987.A total of 568 live lobsters,including 241 males,268 unberring females,and 59 egg-berring females were examined.The egg diameter and the fecundity weremeasured from twenty egg-berring females.The results obtained were summarizedas follows:(1).The relationship among body length,body weight,and carapace lengthappeared linear.The distribution modes were 50-59 mm,140-149mm,and 100-149gfor carapace length,body length,and body weight,respectively.(2).The overall sex ratio(♀:♂)was 58:42.Females were dominant in eachmonth,except July and August.(3).The reproductive activity of egg-berring was lowest in April,increased fromMay,reached peak in July,then declined,and ended in October.(4).Fecundity was highly correlated with carapace length and body weight.Theweight of eggs per brood was also highly correlated with body weight.However,therelationship between fecundity and egg diameter was not significant.(5).The size at first maturity of female spiny lobster was 160 mm in body length,and 55 mm in carapace length.The highest frequency of egg-berring occurred at 50-59 mm in carapace length.The mean fecundity of per female was 132,000,and themean diameter of egg was 0.66 mm.
