千禧年之後，後殖民都市主義理論思潮逐漸興起，尤其在2010年代與傳統都市理論思潮多次爭辯後，其論點日益成熟。然而，臺灣學界至今仍較少關注其研究爭議與應用。在這樣的學術脈絡下，本文將探討都市研究中的全球南方轉向，以及在種種爭辯下如何重新思考全球南方城市，又能給與東亞城市什麼啟發。首先，以異質城市、拼裝網絡的城市型態，以及著重地方經驗三個都市認識論的觀點錨定後殖民都市主義的研究。錨定其認識論後，進一步呈現其主張：異質城市、非正式空間、世界化的渴望與快速治理政策如何應用於全球南方城市之中。本文認為後殖民都市主義的理論思潮有助於都市研究者理解全球南方城市。例如，貧民社區如何從西方負面描述，到肯認其社區價值；殖民歷史如何導致城市基礎建設空間的不均發展；城市又如何透過世界階級的追求以晉升全球權力的一環。最後，說明發展十多年的後殖民都市主義如何提供臺灣過去都市研究不同視角，此視角不僅能夠提供批判力道，並強調底層都市經驗下提供潛在行動的可能。

Post-colonial urbanism has become a central component of urban theory to explain the development of cities in the Global South in the new millennium. In Taiwan, however, post-colonial urbanism is rarely discussed in academia. This investigation introduces post-colonial urbanism and provides an approach to explain how to apply this concept in Taiwan. This work initially addresses how this approach has developed in the past two decades and elaborates its epistemology of urban theory. Additionally, to illustrate the development of post-colonial urbanism, the paper offers four characteristic approaches, namely infrastructure, urban informality, worlding cities, and fast policy, to describe post-colonial urbanism's work. This study also investigates each classification of approaches in their case studies in the Global South cities. Finally, through case studies of Taiwan, we consider that post-colonial urbanism can help explain the experience of urban life, principally because it guides researchers to navigate the thought and action in informal space. Moreover, comparing different cities in Taiwan can illustrate their different urban experiences. This study proposes an approach to apply and seek to examine new insight on East Asian cities.
