A survey of the theoretical background and basic idea of Weinberg's lepton model is given. The second order electron self energy is calculated to explore the renormalizability of the Weinberg theory in the unitary gauge. It is found that there remains residue divergences in the self energy insection on electron propagators. The possibility of cancelation and absorption of all residue divergences in the complete second order corrections to Compton scattering is investigated. It is sho-:vn that residue divergences of Z corrections can be grouped as renormalization constant of coupling constant. Similar calculation and examination of residue divergenses due to W corrections is still in progress.
