A simple method of solving the dynamics of a harmonic lattice chain containing several impurities is presented. This method is quite similar to the method of solving a one-dimensional wave equation with square-well potentials. It has the advantage that different boundary conditions imposed on the ends of the lattice can be treated in the same manner with ease. |
