Equations of Motion for the Two-Boson Excitations in Nuclei and the Quasi-Band Structure

Within the framework of the interacting boson model, we consider a boson system in which all bosons interact through a surface-delta interaction which spans several single-boson states. The approximate solutions for the energies and wave functions of such a system are obtained by the equations of motion technique. The model reproduces the quasi-band structure in transition nuclei.
