The Truth about Top, the Beauty of Bottom, and the Tao of Taut

We give a perspective on the truth and beauty of top and bottom physics. A critical appraisal of issues surrounding the Top quark is presented, distinguishing between Truth and elements of assumption, however plausible the latter may be. Interesting and possible new properties of the Top quark in relation to its heaviness are emphasized, in particular, the likelihood of scalar induced decays t → bH+ and ch0. These processes may hide the actual Top quark below Mw , leading to the tantalizing scenario that LEPII may still discover toponium. Search strategies are discussed and future prospects are given. A standard, heavy Top would already underscore the Beauty of Bottom physics, to be studied at B Factories. The variations around the standard Top would further strengthen the case. The Tao of Tau seems, however, to be just that of the Standard Model, but Vτ has yet to be experimentally identified! The t/b/r heavy flavor frontier promises many years of rewarding returns, hopefully pointing the way towards further underlying symmetries.
