The Fraunhofer (far-field) and Fresnel (near-field) diffraction characteristics of a time dependent Gaussian-shaped pulsed beam from an infinite edge are investigated by both theoretical analysis and numerical representation. The spectral shape-distortion, spectral shift, and intensity distribution in different regions of the image plane are also given. |
