We investigate in this paper, the energies for the ground-state and for the ns (1s^2ns) 2S(superscript e), np (1s^2np)2P(superscript o), (1sns^2) 2S(superscript e), (1s2sns) 2S(superscript e) and (1s2snp) 2Po excited states of the lithium-like ions using the Screening Constant by Unit Nuclear Charge method in the framework of a semi-empirical procedure. For the ground-state up to Z=50, the calculations concern the total energy, first ionization energy, total Coulomb interaction energy between the threeelectrons, and radial correlation expectation value relative to the two-electrons in the 1s^2 1S(superscript e) closed shell core. For the ns (1s^2ns) 2S(superscript e) and np (1s^2np)2P(superscript o) levels, the binding energies (n=3-5, Z=3-14) are tabulated. As regards the (1sns^2) 2S(superscript e), (1s2sns) 2S(superscript e), and (1s2snp) 2P(superscript o) (n=2-10) doubly excited states, we report up to Z =14 the total energy, total Coulomb interaction energy between the three-electrons, and the excitation energy with respect to the ground-state of the corresponding system. The results obtained agree with the available experimental and theoretical literature values. |
