Fast ion conducting glasses in the form (50 - x)P2O5 -xAgI -40Ag2O -10Fe2O3 [where x=0, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 mole %] were prepared by the melt quenching technique. The effect of frequency and temperature on the dielectric parameters, such as the dielectric constant ε', dielectric loss ε”, and the dielectric loss tangent (tanδ), have been studied in the temperature range 300-413 K and in the frequency range 0.5-100 kHz. The influence of adding AgI, at the expense of P2O5, on the dielectric properties and thermodynamic parameters of the investigated sample has been discussed in terms of suitable models. The thermodynamic parameters, such as the free energy of activation (ΔF), the enthalpy of activation (ΔH), the entropy of activation (ΔS), and the activation energy of relaxation(ΔEr), have been calculated. |
