A modular and hierarchical network model is proposed by adding links to a complete binary tree, and the main structural characteristics of this model are investigated analytically and numerically. The results show that, although this model does not have a power law degree distribution, it possesses a high clustering coefficient and a power law clustering function. This indicates that the model has a modular and hierarchical organization, even if the degree distribution does not follow a power law. |
