本研究旨在瞭解臺灣佛教圖書館志工參與及管理之現況,以20所具志工服務制度的佛教圖書館之志工為研究對象,利用問卷法,調查並分析佛教圖書館招募志工的管道以及志工參與的動機、服務時間與時段、服務內容,志工對於教育訓練、考核、正面與負面感受、困難等與管理的相關議題。研究結果顯示臺灣佛教圖書館的志工招募訊息主要是藉由寺院舉辦的活動宣傳,志工的來源主要以道場或寺院的信徒居多,會繼續參與志工工作的最重要因素是可以經常親近道場與寺院,而志工的服務項目以協助與流通相關的館務工作為最常見。在管理方面,超過半數志工曾經參加教育訓練活動,大部分志工認為圖書館不需要對志工實施工作考核,對於志工工作的正面感受偏高,負面感受偏低。有34.9%的志工曾經在工作時遭遇困難或問題,而在工作上遭遇瓶頸或挫折時,最常尋求諮詢的對象為道場或寺院的法師。

This study investigated volunteer management status of Buddhist libraries in Taiwan. A total of twenty Buddhist libraries with regular volunteer recruitment were selected as questionnaire targets on the subjects of recruiting channel, volunteering motivation, volunteer participation hours, duty type, training/evaluation of volunteer performance, and management related issues. Results showed that volunteers received the recruiting news mainly from the promotion activity hosted by the Buddhist Temples. Most of volunteers came from the base of Buddhism followers of that particular temple since they are more willing to involve with religion activities. Volunteers of Taiwan Buddhist libraries mainly involved with circulation related library works and more than fifty percent of these volunteers received training offered by the libraries. Furthermore, majority of the volunteers expressed that there is no need from them to receive working performance evaluation and they did feel positive perception on the job. Around thirty-five percent of volunteers encountered work-related problems while working in the library and when it happened, they usually would seek help from masters from the temple.
