近年因推行免試升學，志工經驗常為申請學校時參考條件，也造成圖書館青少年暑期志工一職難求的特異現象，面對沒有經驗，又只能參與短期志工計劃的青少年，常造成館員的困擾。美國公共圖書館引入青少年志工資源行之有年，從德州奧斯汀公共圖書館與西雅圖公共圖書館招募暑期志工時，於網頁中對工作內容、欲完成事項與所需能力均有詳細的敘述，國內公共圖書館僅是簡單說明。另一方面，經由針對101年的16名國立公共資訊圖書館青少年暑期志工的調查可見，青少年對於「活動支援」類別工作最感興趣，但是對「上架、讀架、排架」的圖書館所需的基礎業務最不感興趣。本文建議未來招募青少年暑期志工時，圖書館可以：詳盡說明工作內容、建立充份且完整的訓練課程、確實稽核志工工作成並充份鼓勵、完成專案以增進成就感，以達人盡其才的最佳效果。

In recent years, volunteers experience became an important factor when students apply to university or senior high school in Taiwan. It causes a specific phenomenon that hard to join Teenage Volunteers Summer Programs. To solve the problem that these teenage volunteers do not have any experiences and time, librarians need to find a way to train them well in short time. This article discusses the experience in U.S. and compares current status between U.S and Taiwan public libraries by reviewing webpage information. Through a questionnaire survey of 16 teenage volunteers of National Library of Public Information, we know the teenage volunteers like to do the job about programs supporting but book shelving. The paper concludes with the following several recommendations to make teenage volunteer programs better: the detail job descriptions, the well planned training programs, the exact audit work and the offers of projects within volunteers' reach..
