Evaluation of Cardiac Function by Ejection Fraction in Chronic Anemia and Polycythemia Patients

對慢性貧血及多血症病人，以心輸出百分比作為其心臟功能之評估

在29個慢性嚴重貧血、14個中度至輕度貧血，以及6個多血症之病人中，以放射性高鎝酸鹽測定其心輸出百分比值。在嚴重貧血組之病人中，其左右心室之輸出百分率平均值分別為54.59%及48.03%。在血色素濃度3.1－8.0 gm%範圍之病人中，其右心室輸出百分率少於35%者只有1人；而左心室輸出百分率少於40%者則有2人。在血色素濃度8.1－19.9 gm%之病人中，沒有1人其左或右心室輸出百分率是少於40%的。從這些結果中可以看出，在嚴重之慢性貧血病人中，心衰竭雖可能發生，但卻並不常見。而在本實驗中，心衰竭並未發生於中度至輕度慢性貧血之病人，以及多血症病人。

First-pass 99mTc-pertechnetate ejection fraction (EF) determinations were performed in 29 chronic severe and 14 moderate to mild anemia patients as well as 6 polycythemia patients. In the severe anemia patient group, the mean of right ventricular EF was 48.0% and of left ventricular EF, 54.6%. In the range of 3.1-8.0 gm% of hemoglobin concentration, 1 patient had right ventricular EF less than 35% and 2 patients had left ventricular EF less than 40%. None of the patients with hemoglobin concentration around 8.1-19.9 gm% had right or left ventricular EF less than 40%. These results showed that congestive heart failure was seen but not a frequent complication in chronic severe anemia patients, and this complication did not appear in the moderately or mildly anemic and the polycythemic patients involved in this study.
