Designing patent image interface research has been done for many years and in many different ways. The research samples in this study were selected from 2006 to 2014 from the United States of America (USA) patents official image database. The study aims to analyze image interface patents within the USA to give an expected development outline for other countries what interested in such design patents. A total of 373 samples were selected for this study. The research results were concluded as follows: (1) The application categories of image interface focus more on tablet computers and no-vectors. It is also worth noting that quantity of image interface patents of no-vectors has been the fastest diversifying development trend of image interface and is greater than that of any other tablet computers applications. (2) In regard to the analysis of patentees, Microsoft was the first enterprise to present its patent layout for image interface, and to certain extent, it had created barriers blocking the entry of other enterprises. (3) As for quantity of design patents, seven drawings are most commonly found in the USA’s image patent gazette. Such a result also conforms with European Union’s regulations.
