簡易且可辨識之鳥類資訊對於賞鳥活動是有幫助的。粗略集合論(Rough Set Theory, RST)爲近來一個新的資料探勘與知識挖掘工具;粗略集合論具有對於不完整與不精確的資訊進行規則歸納與知識建立之能力,並可以處理因資料不確定性和複雜性所造成資訊萃取的困難,且保持資料分類的準確性;此外,粗略集合論可分析數值化及非數值化(nominal)之混合資訊。本研究之主要目的爲建構以粗略集合論爲基礎之賞鳥資訊系統,收集埔里地區之鳥類相關資料,如體型大小、嘴型、顏色等進行分析,以提供賞鳥者鳥類之基本資訊以輔助賞鳥活動。研究結果顯示,以粗略集合論爲基礎之賞鳥資訊系統是一個輔助賞鳥活動進行的可行工具。

英文摘要

Providing bird-watchers with distinguishable information about birds is essential in bird-watching activities. This study focused on developing a bird-watching information system, based on a rough set theory (RST). Rough set theory can deal with vague data, and accepts nominal information, and is an emerging technique in data mining. Rough set theory has been successfully employed in many fields, but has not been widely applied in the establishment of a bird watching information system. This work collects bird data from the Puli area to explore the feasibility of the proposed bird-watching information system. Experimental results showed that the rough set-based information system provides valuable bird information for bird-watchers. Hence, RST is a helpful scheme in bird-watching activities, and can be utilized by bird-watchers with portable devises to find birds.
