中文摘要

In this study, Wilson's problem-solving model (1999) was used as a research framework for identifying uncertainty among researchers in solving problem. A set of questionnaire items was used to collected quantitative data from respondents (134 valid data). Interview was also used to collect in-depth information from 14 respondents. The findings of this study indicate that scholarly researchers rated highly about the use of scholarly electronic journal. Mean uncertainty ratings in ”problem resolution” and ”solution statement” were significantly higher than those in ”identifying problems” and ”defining problem” (p<0.05). Specifically, relatively high uncertainty level was found in following items: ”I was uncertain about whether sufficient in-depth data were covered” and ”I was uncertain about whether the data collected reflected my research hypotheses”. Interview data revealed various internal and external experiences attributed to uncertainty in research process. From their research experiences, researchers considered ”belief for breakthrough” and ”free access to library and information resources” critical for achieving their research goal.
