孝敬父母作為十誡之一，是基督教的一個重要倫理規範。在基督教中，從愛德的次序來講，天主願意人在他之後，孝敬他們的父母。孝敬父母的含義在於愛惜身體和生命，服從父母的教導和奉養父母。孝敬父母還可以引申為學生對老師、雇員對雇主、屬下對上司、國民對國家的義務。基督教孝道觀與中國儒家文化中的孝道觀既有相似之處，也有相異之處。

As one of the Ten Commandments, ”honoring your parents” is an important ethical norm of Christianity. It's God's will to make people obey their parents after obeying God. The meaning of obeying your parents lies in taking good care of your body and life along with obeying your parents and supporting them. The meaning of ”obeying your parents” can be extended to the obligations of students toward their teachers, employees to their employers, and citizens to their country. The Christian view and the Confucian sense of piety are somewhat similar and somewhat different as well.
