顏回生卒年為何,歷來爭論不休;然爭論的真正關鍵,主要還是落在「顏回三十二歲而死」或「顏回四十歲左右死」。如何解決上述爭論呢?首先,受限於史料的缺乏,不應再將問題導至「孰較可信、孰較原始」,也不應再固執於前一個說法必來自《孔子家語》、後一個說法必來自《史記.孔子世家》的錯誤方向;正確的方向,應是:回歸或揣摩孔子談顏回以及他在其他相關發言的語脈。在此方向的引導下,本文最後傾向接受的是「顏回三十二歲而死」。 然而,本文的目的,並不在找出顏回生卒年的確切數目,而在檢視基於什麼潛在理由作出這樣的「決定」;特別是要,在這樣的檢視過程中,嘗試開啟「理解什麼是儒學」的一條新線索。 |

Whether born about Yen Hui (顏回) and what is age of death, the key disputed lay in. ”Yen Hui die 32 years old 'or' Yen Hui about 40 years old extremely”. Then how to solve the dispute above? First of all, because of the shortage of the historical data, should not lead the question to the wrong direction of the following again: For example, ”that historical data can relatively believe or more primitive”, ”the last statement must have come from Kung Tzu Chiayu (《孔子家語》), the later statement and must have come from Kung Tzu Shihchia of Shih Chi (《史記.孔子世家》)”, etc.; Right direction, should return to The Analects of Confucius(《論語》)of the whole meaning, includes the Confucius is how to talk Yen Hui's die young, the Confucius sunset of life talks the oneself how to make the knowledge etc. Under the guide of the direction above, it was that ”Yen Hui die 32 years old” that we inclined to accept this article finally. But, the purpose of this article, the accurate figure of finding out Yen Hui and born and death, but should inspect and make ”the decision” on the basis of some potential reasons; Take, with inspecting so, turn on a new understanding clue on '”What is Confucianism”. |
