本文藉由檢視麥道爾對蒯因的批評，闡述蒯因的不確定說以及作為該理論的基礎之物理主義，將會蘊含「世界不存在」之荒謬主張。同時本文也附帶指出，麥道爾自己對概念化世界的立場，將導致「未概念化環境」從我們的思想及經驗視域中隱沒。

By way of a critique of McDowell’s criticism of Quine, it is shown that Quine's indeterminacy thesis, together with it main basis-physicalism, will result in the absurd idea that the world does not exist. It is also shown that McDowell's own idea of conceptualized world will vanish the unconceptualized environment forever from our conceptual or experiential horizon.
