所謂「身體障礙者」(或簡稱為「形殘者」),簡單的說,是指五官四肢不健全之人,他們不是少了腿,就是少了趾頭,或是駝了背,或是五官位移而異於「常人」。由於他們身形怪異,因而時常遭人非議或排斥。然而,莊子對於形殘者的態度卻迥然異於常人,莊書中的形殘之人,似乎個個皆是能通達「死生存亡之一體」而能逍遙快活的「全德」之人,不僅如此,他們的魅力更是無人可擋,無人可及。在本文中,我們將審視莊書如何借用身體障礙者外形殘缺之意象,來寓意「安化」、「安命」的重要與彰顯保住內在之「德」的必要,以及如何透過「兀者」之形象來顯示統治者的刑罰乃是使人生命不能安頓的主要因素之一,我們也能藉此看出,如何在亂世中安頓生命,乃是莊子思考的主要問題之一。 |
英文摘要 |
A bodily deformed man signifies one who is physically unsound. They may have only one leg, lesser toes, be a hunchback or have abnormal appearance. Abnormality made these mutilated men an object of dispute and repel in the society. In Zhuangzi, however, they are treated as the highest type of person who understand ”the oneness of life and death, of existence and nonexistence”. Moreover, they are extremely socially attractive. I will examines how Zhuangzi, through the metaphorical meaning of bodily deformed man, conveys the importance of serenely settle oneself in the mutability of transformation and the destiny of death and the necessity of retain one's inner potency (de), and how Zhuangzi, through the image of people with chopped foot, reveals the fact that punishment imposed by the ruler is one of the main reasons why one cannot lives serenely. With the above examination reader can see one of the main issues of Zhuangzi's philosophy-how to live serenely in troubled times. |
