英文摘要 |
Thomas Aquinas combines Aristotle's with Augustine's view in his theory of man's ultimate end. According to Aquinas, man desires for naturally perfect happiness which is ”beatific vision”, namely knowing and seeing the One God. Therefore God is the ultimate end which man must seeks in his life. The New Natural Law School criticizes, corrects and supplements Aquinas' theory. They believe that man may have two or more ultimate ends at the same time, that man's last fulfillment lies in the realization of many different basic human goods, that the friendship with God is one of the basic goods. |
