透過科技把人類變成新的一種有生命和意識的存在，這樣的計畫如今在技術上被稱為「超人類主義」。本文探討的主題是：有關如何建立一種世界觀，以切合未來對各種日新月異之新科技應用，基督教神學或許可能有所貢獻。由於世界人口有一大部分是基督徒，我們必須要問，他們對世界未來的想像能否對超人類主義理想的提供者提出有意義的指點。本文認為基督教信仰及其豐富傳統，特別是神之應許與解放的聖經母題，可以有效地規範科技對人類和我們居住的地球可能產生的改變。

Proposals to tranform human beings technologically into a new kind of living and conscious set of beings are now known technically as ”transhumanism,” a project of increasing interest today. This article explores the possible contribution Christian theology might make to the building of a worldview appropriate to any future application of the emerging new technologies. Since Christians make up a large percentage of the world's population, it is important to ask whether their visions of the world's future can instruct the purveyors of transhumanist ideals in a significant way. I argue here that Christian faith and its rich traditions, especially the biblical motifs of divine promise and liberation, can provide fertile constraints within which any future technological transformation of human persons and our planetary habitat may be carried out.
