本文是對劉宗周《中庸》詮釋方法之研究,主要探討的是劉宗周在宋明理學大潮流具有共識的恢復先秦儒學與對峙佛老之學的整體宋明理學基源問題之下,以及隨時代更替在明清鼎革之際所面對的王門流弊的基源問題之下,如何在宋明理學發展脈絡中使用《中庸》建構具有效力的學術理論。本文首先澄清劉宗周如何解析過往宋明理學家的《中庸》詮釋,以及相關理論的選擇與連結。接續討論劉宗周對於《中庸》與《大學》之理論連結與區分,點出劉宗周「中庸原是大學註疏」的主張,以及兩書之差異性。最後,回到劉宗周《中庸》詮釋的方法論意識本身,發現從其「即本體即工夫」的核心主張,開展於《中庸》,提出「闇」、「微」、「中」等方法論意識,回應其哲學理論建構之基源問題,成為其《中庸》詮釋之底基。 |

This article is meant to inquire how Liu Zong-zhou interprets The Doctrine of the Mean, regarding his construction of an effective academic theory by means of The Doctrine of the Mean within the context of the development of the Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism, while he is in face of the consensus of the Song-Ming Neo-Confucians to restore pre- Qin Confucianism and oppose Buddhism and Lao Zi's doctrine along with the problems with the Wang School during the turn of the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. Then, we will discuss the connections and distinctions Liu sees between The Doctrine of the Mean and The Great Learning, referring to Liu's claim about The Doctrine of the Mean being the commentaries of The Great Learning and pointing to the differences in between. Finally, returning to Liu's interpretive approach to The Doctrine of the Mean, we find that his central opinion, "the activation of the heart/mind as moral cultivation," can be traced back to The Doctrine of the Mean, and his concepts of "an," "wei" and "zhong" form the foundation of his interpretation of The Doctrine of the Mean. |
