Aristotelian thought was introduced into Asia by Jesuit missionaries in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries, with the teaching on the soul holding a central position. We shall discuss here the Short Compendium (1593) by Pedro Gómez for the Japan mission, and establish that it served later as an important source for Giulio Aleni in writing his Xingxue Cushu (c.1640). The connection between those two important works has been overlooked by previous research, and sheds new lights on the way the Jesuits adapted the teaching of the soul to the Asian context.

16-17世紀，耶穌會士將亞里斯多德思想傳入亞洲，並以靈魂論為中心。本文將討論戈麥斯為日本所著之《講義綱要》（1593），並證明它後來作為艾儒略撰寫《性學觕述》（c. 1640）一書的重要來源，並提出學術界忽略了這兩部作品之間的關係，以及展示耶穌會的靈魂說如何適應亞洲的處境。
