《致刁臬督書》（Epistle to Diognetus）是宗徒教父作品中唯一的護教作品，成書約在公元2世紀中到3世紀初。本文釐析《致刁臬督書》6.1－6.10與10.1－10.4的文字，說明該作品如何運用靈魂與肉身之比喻與希臘哲學中靈魂的概念，例如靈魂不死論、靈魂受禁錮於肉身、靈魂是人真正的存在與本質等，論述並建立基督徒身份認同、基督徒與世界的關係，以及基督徒承受苦難的原因。

The Epistle to Diognetus is the only apologetic work among the writings of the Apostolic Fathers, and is dated in the period from the mid-second to early third century. This paper focuses on the texts appeared in Diognetus 6.1-6.10 and 10.1-10.4, and explains how the soul-and-body metaphor and the concepts of soul in the Greek philosophy, for example: immortality of soul, soul's imprisonment in the flesh/body, soul is the real essence/being of man, can give meanings to the establishment of Christian identity, the correct understanding of the Christian-world relation, and the reason of Christians' sufferings.
