Feng Shui has endured as an art of home site selection in China for more than 2000 years and is still popular in Chinese society. The Feng Shui discipline may positively influence human health and well-being. This paper argues that Feng Shui has had both an evolutionary and an ecological value in the selection of optimal human habitation sites. The ideal ”Luan Tou” Feng Shui location contains certain landscape features that signify a suitable habitat. Feng Shui also integrates both natural and cultural considerations in the pursuit of harmony and balance between nature and humanity as well as among people themselves. It not only promotes a closer understanding of and interdependence between nature and humans but also encourages prudent behavior regarding resource utilization and cultural values. Feng Shui has made significant contributions towards providing a stable and sustainable agricultural civilization. Through objective examination, the usefulness and validity of Feng Shui can be better determined and understood. The folk wisdom of Feng Shui, which is not yet fully understood, is much more than mere superstition.
