The meaning of value chain management (VCM) is to optimize the whole core business process, and reduce the cost of enterprise organization and its operation. It promotes enterprise's market competition, and thus the value increment is obtained. The essential purposes of the VCM are reducing the cost of operation, controlling management risk by optimizing the core business, the organizational structure, the business process and the information flow and so on. Finally, it enhances the efficiency and the economic benefit at each operation, and increases the whole competitive advantages for enterprise. In this article, the organization profile and the processes of VCM are studied, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), New Zealand, is chosen as an example. It also introduces the two relative activities for the activity based costing (ABC) and the collaborative cooperation of supply chain in detail.
