花蓮區農業改良場為提供農民市場情報，設置農產品市場服務站，每日將電傳視訊上農林廳所建之「農產品市場資訊系統」交易資料，下載至本場電腦。資料來源為台北農產運銷公司第一及第二市場之蔬菜及水果，及花蓮縣蔬菜運銷合作社之蔬菜交易資料。內容包括上、中、下、平均價及交易量。利用自行研發之資料庫轉換程式，將下載之資料轉換成可供利用之資料庫。同時使用clipper軟體，研發於個人電腦及區域網路使用之「蔬菜水果市場行情」資訊系統，提供日期、作物名稱、品種查詢及統計結果，以擴大服務效果。

For providing the market information to farmers, the agricultural market service station was set up in Hualien District Agricultural Improvement station. Five daily trading information text files of vegetable and fruit products were download from the market information reporting system of agricultural products which was established by Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the Provincial Government. The contents of market information consist upper, middle, and lower prices, average prices, transacted quantities, and the transaction values. A program was developed to append the text files into a database. The vegetable and fruit market information system compiled by the clipper package version 5.2 was completed to manage the database. The computer system is operated under the environment of DOS with big 5 code Chinese operating system, and available under the novel network system. Users can search the price data by date, crop name, and variety. System provides the statistics function also.
