本篇報告八例鼻眼窩白黴菌病，其致病因素五例為糖尿病，一例為惡性淋巴瘤，一例為系統性紅斑性狼瘡，一例則導因於急性齒骨膜膿瘍。除典型之臨床表徵外，所有八例之病理組織切片顯示不分隔之菌絲，其中一例可見菌絲侵入血管管壁。五例存活病例均成功地使用Amphotericin B治療，另有三例則死於嚴重之原致病因素。鑑於此病之迅速發生及高死亡率，尤其是與糖尿病之密切關係，作者特報告此八例經驗與同道共同研究參考。此病如及早正確診斷並予適當治療，當可挽囘視力與性命，本篇之病例一與病例三卽由眼科醫師首先發現並迅速治療，病人性命得以挽囘，卽是明顯的例子。

Eight consecutive cases of rhino-orbital mucormycosis were studied. Five patients were diabetic, of which three were ketoacidotic. Two were detected of the disease on out-patient basis by ophthalmologists. Nonseptate hyphae were recognised by biopsy in all patients. None of the patients received exenteration. Five of six patients who were treated with Amphotericin B survived. All surviors have ultimate vision of no light perception.
