民國76年2月至10月，我們進行早產兒視網膜病變之篩檢工作，篩檢對象為出生體重少於2000公克或懷孕週數少於36週之早產兒。在44位早產兒中，共有27隻眼有早產兒視網膜病變。檢出率為30.61%。他們大多為出生體重小於1300公克或懷孕週數少於32週之早產兒。儘早檢查早產充之眼底有助於早產兒視網膜病變之發現與追踪。

For those premature babies whose birth weight were less than 2000gm or whose gestation age were under 36 weeks, we performed indirect ophthalmoscopy as a screening examination for retinopathy of prematvrity from Feb. to Oct. 1987. There were 27 eyes with positive findings of ROP among the 44 premature babies. The positive rate was 30.61%. All these babies were less than 1300 gms in birth weight or under 32 weeks in gestation ages. We encourage early indirect ophthalmoscopic examination in order to early detect the retinopathy of prematurity.
