長庚醫院所使用的捐贈角膜來源，包括本地捐贈、斯里蘭卡、及美國眼庫所捐贈等；三者所使用的角膜保存液各不相同：國內及早期斯里蘭卡的角膜均保存於MM K medium，最近斯里蘭卡的角膜則保存於室溫的（組織）培養液，而美國眼庫則使用Dexsol solution。我們以這些保存液做微生物培養，並將其陽性培養率結果，加以比較報告。 自78年7月到79年9月（15個月）間，本地捐贈角膜保存液MM K medium的陽性培養率為7/70=10%（4例為細菌性、3例為黴菌性污染），斯里蘭卡的培養率中，MM K medium的為9/35=25.7%（8例為細菌性、1例為黴菌性污染），新的培養液為10/41=24.4%（9例為細菌性、1例為黴菌性污染），美國眼庫所用Dexsol solution的陽性培養率為3/37=8.1%（3例均為細菌性污染）。這183例角膜移植手術之後，有三例產生眼內炎，均來自斯里蘭卡所捐贈的角膜，本報告之病例並無術後產生角膜潰瘍者。

This is a report to compare our routine culture results of three different preservation media for donor corneas from domestic, Sri Lanka, and USA, which we received from July 1989 to September 1990. The positive culture rate for domestic MMK medium was 7/70=10% (4 cases of bacterial, and 3 cases of fungal contamination), for Sri Lanka MMK midium was 9/35=25.7% (8 cases of bacterial, and 1 case of fungal contamination), for Sri Lanka new preservation medium was 10/4l=24.4% (9 cases of bacterial and 1 case of fungal contamination), and for USA Dexsol solution was 3/37=8.1% (all bacterial contamination). After transplantation, 3 cases out of total 183 surgery developed endophthalmitis, and all these 3 donor cornea were imported from Sri Lanka.
