本篇報告一例六十八歲男性患者，主訴兩眼視力模糊達兩個月之久，經由檢查後發現兩眼黃斑部有裂孔，而被診斷為兩眼特發性黃斑部裂孔症(Idiopathic macular hole)。經過21個月追蹤檢查，結果發現右眼原本非常明顯之黃斑部裂孔自然消失，但視力卻未因此而獲得改善，仍然維持於6/60。至於左眼則無明顯的變化。

We present one case of through and through macular hole showing spontaneous healing of retinal defect. Such healing occurred during 21 months follow-up. Visual acuity did not change, 6/60 before and after the healing of hole. The incidence for such healing is around 2.5% (1/40) in our series of idiopathic macular hole. The possible mechanism will be discussed.
