視網膜胚母細胞瘤主要的治療方法有雷射治療，冷凍治療，放射線治療和眼球摘除術等。採用雙側性放射線治療主要目的是要為患眼保留一點有用的視力，但卻有患眼腫瘤之復發，照後白內障及第二種腫瘤發生率之增加等併發症。本篇報告一例接受雙側放射線治療後腫瘤復發之臨床病理觀察及其預後評估。

The treatment of retinoblastoma includes laser photocoagulation, cryopexy, Co 60 radiation or enucleation. For the cases of bilateral involvement, the best methodology of treatment is enucleation on the more advanced eye and apply radiation, cryopexy or photocoagulation to the other one. But if the both eyes are far advanced involvment, bilateral enucleation or bilateral radiation has been recommended in the literature. The application of radiation can save some useful vision in one or both eyes for few cases, but the subsequently careful observation of the tumor recurrence, radiation cataract and increasing incidence of second systemic tumors must be emphasized. The clinicopathological observation of tumor recurrence and anterior extention of retinoblastoma after bilateral radiation was reported.
