本論文認爲當代新儒學「新外王」思想之中心問題是：就整體文化論而言傳統中國文化如何自我轉化！爲此，本論文展開下述討論：(1)作爲整體文化之傳統中國文化之「體」與「用」問題。(2)整體文化論與意識型態之問題。(3)整體文化論與文化相對主義問題。(4)整體文化論與保守主義問題。(5)傳統中國文化與「開放的傳統」、「開放的歷史」、「開放的社會」等問題。(6)從整體文化論看西方傳統文化之現代化轉型，與中國文化之現代思考。

It has been the central issue of the contemporary Neoconfuscianism on the thought ”Neo Wai Wang” that, regarding the organic cultural entity, in what manner the Chinese traditional should transform itself. Basing on the idea as such, this paper intends to make the following discussion:(1) the issue of 'substance' and its 'function' within the organic context of Chinese traditional culture.(2) theory of organic culture and the problem of ideology.(3) theory of organic culture and the problem of Cultural Relativism.(4 )theory of organic culture and the problem of Conservatism.(5) the issue concerning the traditional Chinese Culture and 'open tradition', 'open history' and 'open society'.(6) the mordern transformation of western traditional culture and the modern review of Chinese Culture in the view of organic culture.
