本文旨在透過比較方式檢視恩斯特•漢斯•貢布里希(Ernst Hans Gombrich)與約翰•赫伊津哈(Johan Huizinga)二人分別於《遊戲的高度嚴肅性》和《遊戲的人》等論著裡道出之遊戲觀,以利掌握前者對遊戲所作的詮釋及相關問題。全文共分為四節:第一節扼要說明本論文的主要內容及其宗旨;第二節簡釋赫伊津哈於《遊戲的人》一書中呈現的遊戲理論;第三節透過貢布里希的遊戲觀來評析赫氏的論點,並凸顯「掃興者」此角色來呈現具自由心智的遊戲者才是文化形成的原初動力,而非先驗的遊戲規則;最後一節則試圖建立遊戲與嚴謹態度之間的關係,並說明為何遊戲活動本身具有遊戲性與嚴肅性等雙重特質。 |
英文摘要 |
The main purpose of this paper is to review the theory of play mentioned by Ernst Hans Gombrich and Johan Huizinga in 《The High Seriousness of Play》 and 《Honio ludens》 respectively, through the comparative method, in order to comprehend the interpretation made by Gombrich about the play and other related issues. The article consists of four sections. The first section briefly describes the essential content and the purpose of this paper. The second section summarizes and interprets the theory of play formulated by Huizinga in 《Horno ludens》. The third section evaluates Huizinga's thought through Gombrich's opinion on play and emphasizes the role of the ”spoilsport” in order to reveal that, instead of the game rule a priori, the player with the free mind and will is the true efficient cause of culture making. The last section attempts to build the relation between play and serious attitude, as well as to explain why the activity of play may contain the dual character of playfulness and seriousness. |
