By a questionnaire survey, this study aimed to imvestigate the teacher responses to teaching materials, the quality of teachers, teaching equipments, calligraphy activities and teaching, calligraphy education in the nine-year consistent curriculum in primary schools in Taiwan. The calligraphy education in primary schools has been under the impact of computer technology changes, loosening of practical functions in language courses, the credit-deduction of native language courses, and the role changes of teachers in schools. The researchers further explored the calligraphy literature and made suggestions for solving problems resulting from the practice of the nine-year consistent curriculum reformation in Taiwan. It is hoped that the findings and suggestions for this study can provide helpful references of calligraphy education reformation for educators and researchers.
