This article explores the feasibility of using the case method in the law curriculum of the general education program. Through a review of the relevant literature, the author indicated that the case method was first used in the law department in Taiwan in 1970. In recent years, more and more law schools have been using the case method in their professional law curriculum.
In general education, the use of this method would be a new task, and students would better understand the Constitution, civil laws, or criminal laws through instruction about case studies. The author designed a lesson plan and rewrote a description of a real case, hoping it will help teachers improve their teaching skills.
