This essay focuses on analyzing Lu Hui-Qing's thought about ”non-self” in ”Commentary on Zhuangzi”. There are some dimensions about the discussion of ”non-self” in the book. First, Lu analyzed how one builds self-identity and realizing it is the basis of spiritual transformation into ”non-self” in his idea. Second, about how the spiritual state transforms into the ideal state of ”non-self”, Lu emphasized the reflection of self-identity and progressive forgetting. With it, one will finally reach the ideal state of response, just spontaneous like a mirror. Third, about the ideal state of ”non-self” and the ability form it in governing, Lu gave his attention to how the ruler governs his people with the way of wu-wei, which means following the nature of his people. The ruler should have indispensable metaphysical wisdom and ideal spiritual state which are dynamic life and creativity in culture from Qi. Lu's interpretation in ”Zhuangzi” are both incisive and creative, and it shows his individual experience in time and political practice.
