Urban parks are crucial open spaces of city infrastructures. Thus, a suitable model for evaluating these spaces is required. Studying four urban parks in Tainan, Taiwan, this study explored the relationship between a park's spatial characteristics and its visitors' satisfaction with its functionalities. The results demonstrate that leisure and recreation, the leisure environment, and parent-child interaction functionalities were the most essential functionalities of urban parks. Spatial factors such as a park's landscape and its recreational, sanitary, and public facilities should be optimized. The layout of parks should also be considered-including the roads, parking spaces, greenery, ponds, trees, playground areas, number of entrances, children's recreational facilities, pieces of fitness equipment, lighting equipment, fixed seats, and toilets. Additionally, survey results indicated that visitors were not satisfied with most of the aforementioned spatial factors. Factors accompanied by the highest levels of dissatisfaction should be addressed first to achieve the goal of diversifying urban park services.
