As the economic prosperity in the society, the rising of novels' status, the change in the pattern of consumption, and the flourish of inscription environment, the trend that the publishers evaluated published novel was overwhelming in the Ming Dynasty. Commercial novels became the products that were valued by the authors, reviewers, and publishers. Customers' preference determined the sales profit, increased the complexity considered in creation, and resulted in Huaben novels' tendency to secular emotion. In the present study, we took ”Xing Shi Yan” as an example. In reviewing Lu Ren Long's creation and adaptation as well as Lu Yun Long's evaluation, we suggested that when the Lu brothers faced and handled the problems of virtue and remarriage, they generally satisfied the expectation of public opinion and understood the widows' tough life. They also expressed their support for virtue by arranging the plots of karma. In consideration of losing father in the childhood, they also expressed their sympathy to remarriage. In the end, the authors' attempt to set a model for the ordinary people was demonstrated.
