Based on the official result from the 1996 Taiwan Area Games in Athletics, the reaction time of the rounds of the 100 meter event's competitors were analysed and discussed. The results were as follows: 1. The correlation coefficients of men's 100 meter event first round and semifinal reached P<0.05 significant level. Reaction time of men's first round was significantly shorter than the semifinal's, P<0.05. The correlation coefficients among rounds of 8 excellent men's competitors reached P<0.05 significant level. 2. The correlation coefficients of women's 100 meter event first round and semifinal reached P<0.05 significant level. Reaction time of women's first round was shorter than the semifinal's significantly. The correlation coefficients among rounds of 8 excellent women's competitors were more than 0.900 (P<0.05). 3. The reaction times of men's 100 meter event rounds were shorter than the women's (P<0.05). The correlation coefficients of women's first round and semifinal and final, were higher than men's (P<0.05). |
